Baseball Recap: Elko Wins Going Away Against North Valleys

Elko made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Valleys, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Elko Indians' way against the North Valleys Panthers on Saturday as the Elko Indians made off with an 11-5 win. With that victory, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Elko let Travis Monett and Ryder Miller run wild. Monett scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Miller scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave Miller a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Coy Jones, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

The win got Elko back to even at 5-5. As for North Valleys, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elko will face off against Lowry at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elko is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season. As for North Valleys, they will challenge Sparks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Valleys is facing Sparks at the right time seeing as Sparks is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
