Spring is 9-1 against Dekaney since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Spring Lions will head out on the road to take on the Dekaney Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. Hopefully Spring focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
Spring posted their biggest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat MacArthur 68-32 at home. Given Spring's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while MacArthur is ranked 1050th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Tadarius Wade, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaylan Tran, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Dekaney's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a hard 49-32 fall against Benjamin Davis. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dekaney has scored all season.
Spring now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Dekaney, their loss dropped their record down to 14-14.
Spring was able to grind out a solid win over Dekaney in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 81-73. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
