The Lawrence County Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mae Jemison Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Lawrence County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Russellville 97-51. Lawrence County has not had much luck with Russellville recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Lawrence County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zander Keepers, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Braylon Dame, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Mae Jemison's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 68-27 loss at the hands of Buckhorn. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mae Jemison has scored all season.
Lawrence County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Mae Jemison, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-13.
Things could have been worse for Lawrence County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-33 loss to Mae Jemison in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Lawrence County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
