Byers took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They never let the Byhalia Indians get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Byers got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kesean Lafrance out in front who rushed for 135 yards and one score on only 14 carries. Lafrance's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Corey Willis Jr., who rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown.

Coming up, Byers will head out on the road to square off against Holly Springs at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Byhalia, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Independence at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
