It was a good run, but the Dunellen Destroyers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Timothy Christian. Dunellen was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Timothy Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Dunellen had strong showings from Sophie Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, and Wendy Woll, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Dunellen's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Timothy Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Dunellen will head out on the road to take on Wardlaw Hartridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Wardlaw Hartridge: 25, Dunellen: 27.9) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Timothy Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Amboy at 4:00 p.m. South Amboy's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Timothy Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
