Basketball Recap: Weslaco Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Weslaco had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took down the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears 59-43. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 79-41 back in January.

Leading Weslaco to victory were Pete Cantu and Kai L Fino. Cantu posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, while L Fino went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points and six boards. That's the most points L Fino has posted since back in November of 2024. Lino Milano was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo still got an impressive performance from Jaidon Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards.

Weslaco is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-21.

Weslaco has already played their next game, a 55-54 victory against Edinburg on the 31st. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-26 defeat against Edinburg North on the 31st.
