Momence has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Beecher Bobcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 14 to 3 on the offensive boards, a fact Momence proved on Tuesday. They walked away with a 37-28 win over Grant Park.
Momence got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sydnee Vanswol out in front who scored 14 points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Vanswol posted two or more blocks. A'Miracle Johnson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Beecher made easy work of Clifton Central on Monday and carried off a 49-29 win.
Momence's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. As for Beecher, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season.
Momence came up short against Beecher in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 35-24. Can Momence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
