5A District 16 recap November 19, 2013
American Heritage's Torrance Gibson rumbled for the longest rushing play in 5A District 16 this season in his game against Lely last week. Gibson's team topped the Trojans as he sprinted for 87 yards on the play and finished with 201 in all.
American Heritage extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lely, 51-13. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
The Patriots' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gibson threw for 104 and 3 touchdowns and Brandon Johnson had 64 yards receiving. On the ground Gibson chipped in 201 yards. Sony Michel helped American Heritage's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 21 yards.

Cardinal Gibbons's Peyton Bender and Trevon Lee have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Bender has thrown for 2,217 yards this season, while Lee has 48 catches for 743 yards. Key West's Mekhi Sargent leads the league in rushing yards with 1,080.
American Heritage took down the Trojans 51-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gibson in the win.
