After a string of three wins, the Mountain View Mountain Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Frederick. If Mountain View hoped to take revenge for the 46-36 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Mountain View lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Meghan Keil, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Addison Branscum was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Frederick was led to victory by Gabby Jima and Zoe Wittler. Jima scored 14 points along with two steals, while Wittler scored 18 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jima has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Gardner, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Frederick, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Mountain View and Severance will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Frederick, they will head out on the road to take on Fort Morgan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Morgan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Frederick is ranked 37th).
