Excel Christian has struggled against Mineral County recently, as their match on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Excel Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Mark Doerfler and Keegan Davis. Doerfler scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks, while Davis scored eight points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Doerfler pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Excel Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Mineral County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.
