Ironwood can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They pulled ahead with a 48-47 photo finish over Centennial. The win was just what Ironwood needed coming off of a 57-26 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Paradise Valley beat Apollo 42-34 on Thursday. The win was just what Paradise Valley needed coming off of a 61-32 loss in their prior match.
Paradise Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Savana Blazina, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blazina has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Kollie, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Ironwood's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for Paradise Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Ironwood might still be hurting after the 53-31 defeat they got from Paradise Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ironwood was down 30-8.
