St. Catherine has won 17 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Midlothian has won 17 straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Saints will welcome the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Catherine's 1.9, Midlothian 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
St. Catherine's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Flint Hill 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kinnady Branch and Jenna Keefer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Branch pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Keefer pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Branch went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Keefer went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two hits gave Keefer a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jordan Morey was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Izzy Viruet was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
St. Catherine's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Midlothian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Manchester on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won eight in a row.
Marlee Gaskell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Bella Moussa and Erika Fiege did most of the damage at the plate: Moussa went 3-for-4 with one run and one double, while Fiege went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
St. Catherine's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Midlothian, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Catherine's hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. However, it's not like Midlothian struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
