It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Navajo Prep Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged Newcomb out 38-36. Winning may never get old, but Navajo Prep sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Xavier Nez was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 229 yards and four touchdowns. Khol Johnson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Several Skyhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mikal Ashley, who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Dion Lee also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
Navajo Prep's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Newcomb, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Navajo Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Newcomb also has no future games currently scheduled.
