The Millburn Millers came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 69-51 win over Nutley. Given Millburn's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Nutley is ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Noah Ravitz was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Zach Benmorits was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Millburn's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Nutley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millburn will stay at home for another game and welcome West Essex at 4:00 p.m. on January 9th. Nutley will take on Livingston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
