There's no place like home for the Plato Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down Iberia 65-50 on Monday. For Plato, this counts as revenge for the 56-32 defeat the Rangers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Iberia's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Edwards, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaye Humphrey, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Plato pushed their record up to 1-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Iberia, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plato will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on February 15th. As for Iberia, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m.
