This season hasn't been kind to the Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage Rams, who are still winless after their 12th match. They took a 27-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mineral County on Monday. Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage has not had much luck with the Serpents recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Mineral County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caitlynn Sanchez out in front who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and six steals. It was the first time this season that Sanchez pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Taiylor Sanchez, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage dropped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mineral County, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Mineral County, they will challenge the Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pyramid Lake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Serpents in Nevada (the Lakers are ranked 15th, while the Serpents are ranked 98th).
