Cornerstone Charter Academy opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-50 loss to Mount Dora Christian Academy. Cornerstone Charter Academy has struggled against Mount Dora Christian Academy recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Ducks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Lebron, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Khaiwyn Marsch, who scored 12 points.
Cornerstone Charter Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 9-5.
Cornerstone Charter Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Lyman at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Lyman is ranked 399th, while Cornerstone Charter Academy is ranked 415th). As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Apopka at 8:00 p.m. on January 6th.
