Southside is 5-0 against the Bears since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Southside Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Belton-Honea Path Bears at 7:30 p.m. Southside is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Southside lost to the Patriots at home by a decisive 69-51 margin. Southside has struggled against the Patriots recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Belton-Honea Path's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 60-46 fall against Fountain Inn.
Southside's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-14. As for Belton-Honea Path, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
Southside came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bears in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 71-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
