University Liggett moved up to 259 from 312 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Michigan Independent. The Knights climbed the ranks as a result of besting Douglass 15-14.
University Liggett and the Hurricanes played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with University Liggett eventually emerging with a 15-14 victory. Nate Gaggin threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 88 yards in the win.
University Liggett's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Gaggin has thrown for 2087 yards and 22 touchdowns this season, while Drew Jerome has 47 catches for 751 yards. Gaggin also leads the league in rushing with 970 yards.
Gaggin of the Lou Ray's team is only 30 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
The Knights made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,270 from 8,514. The improvement was the result of 15-14 victory over Douglass last week.
