The Stratton Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Briggsdale with a sharp 60-40 win on Saturday. For Stratton, this counts as revenge for the 46-37 loss Briggsdale walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Sedonia Isenbart was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 4 assists. The contest was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Isenbart, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Stratton's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Briggsdale, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stratton will take on Cheyenne Wells at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cheyenne Wells focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday. As for Briggsdale, they will be playing at home against Lone Star at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lone Star will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Briggsdale is ranked 49th).
