The Quarry Lane Cougars were the 61-52 winner over the Stockton Christian Eagles when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Quarry Lane was outmatched by the Eagles on the road and fell 78-49. Quarry Lane has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stockton Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Chamblee, who scored 23 points. Chamblee hasn't dropped below 16 points for six straight games. Chris Williams was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Quarry Lane has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Stockton Christian, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
Quarry Lane will head out on the road to square off against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Emery and the Cougars are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Stockton Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Ben Holt College Prep Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
