Tescott has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the St. John's/Tipton Catholic Blujays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tescott will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 334th, while St. John's/Tipton Catholic is ranked 148th).
Last Tuesday, Tescott was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 32-26 to Rock Hills.
St. John's/Tipton Catholic suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. Their tough 65-44 loss to Bennington might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. John's/Tipton Catholic in their matchups with Bennington: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, St. John's/Tipton Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Edward Horinek scored 17 points along with two steals. Horinek hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Christopher Larocque, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Tescott's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Tescott was dealt a bruising 76-48 loss at the hands of St. John's/Tipton Catholic in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Tescott was down 46-25.
