In what's become a running theme this season, the Hampton Roads Academy Navigators gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Norfolk Academy, posting a 52-24 victory on the road. Winning may never get old, but Hampton Roads Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Hampton Roads Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zuriel Pendleton-morant led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Pendleton-morant hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Kate Lasley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Hampton Roads Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Norfolk Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
Hampton Roads Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mighty Oaks at 5:30 p.m. As for Norfolk Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Northampton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
