If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Prairie. They will challenge Jefferson on the road at 7:15 PM on Friday. Prairie are coming into the game hot, having won three in a row.
Prairie got themselves on the board against Hempstead last Friday, but Hempstead never followed suit. Everything came up roses for Prairie against Hempstead as the squad secured a 35-0 victory. Followers of Prairie probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Meanwhile, we expected Jefferson to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Cedar Falls, and they did. Jefferson ended up on the wrong side of a painful 7-38 walloping at Cedar Falls' hands.
Prairie's win lifted them to 5-1 while Jefferson's defeat dropped them down to 1-5. We'll find out if Prairie can add another positive mark to their record or if Jefferson can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Prairie's step.
