The Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs will take on the Monticello Sages at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mahomet-Seymour is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Mahomet-Seymour came out on top against Heyworth on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Bulldogs took their game against the Hornets 8-3.

Ainsley Whitaker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Rio Casillas was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mahomet-Seymour kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heyworth only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, Monticello came tearing into Monday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Spartans.
The team relied heavily on Isabella Beery, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Mahomet-Seymour has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-14 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Monticello, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mahomet-Seymour hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Monticello struggles in that department as they've averaged .370. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mahomet-Seymour might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Monticello in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
