After flying high against the BELIEVE Circle City Cyclones last Thursday, the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers came back down to earth. Indiana School for the Deaf had to suffer through a rough 69-39 loss at the hands of the Titans. Indiana School for the Deaf was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-18.
Despite the loss, Indiana School for the Deaf still got an impressive performance from Dylan Puent, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That was a full 46.2% of Indiana School for the Deaf's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Saaty, who scored 13 points.
Gracen Huffman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tri, shooting 6-for-9 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double on 36 points and nine steals. It was the first time this season that Huffman scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Cox, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Indiana School for the Deaf's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Tri, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indiana School for the Deaf will challenge the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri, they will head out on the road to take on the Mohawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
