The Delta Eagles will square off against the Connersville Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Delta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Delta can't be too worried about heading out to take on Connersville: they just beat Winchester Community at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Eagles walked away with an 11-7 win over the Golden Falcons on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Golden Falcons: they've now won six in a row.

Ayden Mitchell tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Everrett Linn was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Gavin Case also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winchester Community only managed eight hits.
Meanwhile, Connersville can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Greensburg.
Gavin Brannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. Connersville is 4-1 when Brannon allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-13 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kolton DeBoard, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Delta's record now sits at 18-9. As for Connersville, their record is now 12-14.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Delta has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Connersville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Delta was able to grind out a solid victory over Connersville in their previous matchup on May 2nd, winning 6-2. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
