The Monarch Knights will head out on the road to take on the Coral Glades Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monarch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Monarch fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Fort Lauderdale on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Flying L's by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mia Macaione spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Emily Phipps and Mylie Carlson did some serious damage despite the final result: Phipps scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Carlson scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Coral Glades didn't have quite enough to beat Stoneman Douglas on Wednesday and fell 6-4.
Coral Glades also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Addison Schwartzberg gave up three earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. Schwartzberg has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cameron Marques was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
Monarch has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. Coral Glades' record now sits at 2-4.
Coral Glades' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Monarch has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Coral Glades, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Monarch's sizable advantage in that area, Coral Glades will need to find a way to close that gap.
Monarch might still be hurting after the 15-1 defeat they got from Coral Glades in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Monarch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
