Trinity hasn't had much luck against Mt. Shasta recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will square off against the Bears at 2:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Trinity has three straight wins, Mt. Shasta has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Trinity got the win against Hayfork by a conclusive 14-1.

Brynn Sommerfeld and Jessica Brown were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Sommerfeld struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Brown tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Sommerfeld got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Brown went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave Brown a new career-high.
In other batting news, Trinity let Raegan Millette and Adriana Seele run wild. Millette got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Seele got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Millette has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallee Prather, who earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Trinity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Mt. Shasta came up short against Modoc on Friday and fell 8-4.
Emily Pigoni put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. Pigoni was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Pigoni wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaley Lanier, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Trinity pushed their record up to 14-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Mt. Shasta, they now have a losing record of 9-10-1.
Trinity couldn't quite get it done against Mt. Shasta in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 14-11. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
