The Ludlow Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Owen County Rebels at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ludlow is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Ludlow's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Holmes 10-0. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Parker Trenkamp made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jackson Mays was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Travis Turner, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Ludlow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Owen County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Henry County.
Owen County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Hearn, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Owen County's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Ludlow, their record is now 6-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ludlow has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Owen County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Ludlow might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Owen County in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
