On Thursday, The Broadwater Academy Vikings faced the Southampton Academy Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Broadwater Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Southampton Academy 14-12. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Broadwater Academy.
Despite the defeat, Southampton Academy saw an underclassman step up: Ethan Webb rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown.
Broadwater Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Southampton Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Broadwater Academy will head out on the road to face off against Brunswick Academy at 2:00 p.m. on October 28th.
