The Hardee Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 78-60 to Frostproof. Hardee has not had much luck with Frostproof recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Hardee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Phoenix Romeo. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Romeo has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Samuel Teape, who scored 12 points.
It was another big night for Sevastian Rosado, who scored 37 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals for Frostproof. That makes it five consecutive games in which Rosado has scored at least a third of Frostproof's points. Turral Berry was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Hardee's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Frostproof, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Hardee will head out on the road to square off against Frostproof at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frostproof knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 contests -- so hopefully Hardee likes a good challenge. As for Frostproof, they will look to defend their home court against Hardee at 8:00 p.m. Hardee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 646th, while Frostproof is ranked 267th).
