La Lumiere Blue pushed their score all the way to 76 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 77-76 to Lane Tech. The matchup was a 34-34 toss-up at halftime, but La Lumiere Blue couldn't quite close it out.
Meanwhile, South Bend Washington came into Friday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past Penn with a 53-47 victory on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given South Bend Washington's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Penn is ranked 44th).
Steven Reynolds 3 was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last ten games he's played. Da'Kori Parker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and three steals.
La Lumiere Blue's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for South Bend Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
