The Northwestern Wildcats gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-28 win over Crossland.
Amelle Passee was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Briana Zavala, who scored 9 points.
Crossland's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Camille Townsend, who scored 11 points. Kendra Gaton was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Northwestern's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Crossland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will face off against Bell at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crossland, they will head out on the road to face off against Gwynn Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Gwynn Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
