Marysville is 10-0 against the Pirates since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Marysville Indians will be playing at home against the Wheatland Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Marysville is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Pirates in California (the Indians are ranked 544th, while the Pirates are ranked 1214th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-31, which was the final score in Marysville's tilt against the Raging Rhinos on Friday.
Wheatland can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They really took it to Lindhurst for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-26 victory at home. The win was just what Wheatland needed coming off of a 66-30 defeat in their prior contest.
Wheatland had a senior duo take command as Tyler Thompson dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds and J cruz Ramirez dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kayden Glover, who scored five points along with five steals.
Marysville's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Wheatland, their victory ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-19.
Everything came up roses for Marysville against the Pirates when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 53-22 victory. Does Marysville have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
