Addison Hoffman of
McHenry (IL), is the USA Football & MaxPreps Girls High School Flag Football Player of the Week for Oct. 6 – 12. Hoffman and the Warriors went 2-1 during the week, outscoring opponents 120-42.
McHenry defeated the Grayslake North Knights and DeKalb Barbs in the playoffs before falling to the Cary-Grove Trojans in a close 28-27 game. Hoffman made 16 receptions for 288 yards and seven touchdowns across the three games, bringing her season totals to 88 receptions for 1,743 yards and 27 touchdowns. She entered the week ranked 18th in the nation this fall in receiving yards and fifth in the state of Illinois.
Hoffman complemented her performance through the air by adding six carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns. She also contributed three flag pulls and two hurries on defense. Hoffman is third on the Warriors in rushing this season with 26 carries for 346 yards and four touchdowns.
Notable stats from Hoffman:
Made six receptions for 106 yards and four touchdowns against Grayslake North.
Contributed 151 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns against DeKalb.
Totaled 157 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns against Cary-Grove.
Ranks 18th in the nation in receiving yards and 5th in the state of Illinois.
As the Player of the Week, Hoffman will receive a complimentary opportunity to be further evaluated through USA Football's National Team Development Program at a Talent ID Camp in the fall or spring. The development program is part of the premier pathway to Team USA Football®, which represents our country in international competitions such as the Junior International Cup, World Championships and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Athletes who attend the National Team Development Program's Talent ID Camp are eligible to receive invitations to future U.S. National Teams Trials within their age classification.

This award celebrates the achievements of the athletes who are helping to drive flag football at the high school level. USA Football research shows more than 1.7 million athletes ages 6-17 played the sport in 2024, representing a 37% increase in participation over the past decade. Much of that growth is being driven by girls and women. Participation among girls ages 6-12 increased by approximately 283% from 2015 to 2024.
Opportunities for girls and women to play flag football competitively for high school and college programs are increasing. Sixteen states sanction girls' flag football as a varsity sport for current or future seasons. Women's flag football at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) level features college scholarships and a national championship.
