The Trenton Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Woodhaven Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Trenton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
While Trenton's win against Carlson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Marauders 2-1 on Monday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Marauders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Trenton's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Niko Beaudrie, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Woodhaven got themselves on the board against Lincoln Park on Monday, but Lincoln Park never followed suit. They blew past the Railsplitters 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Talan Holladay-Smith looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up a single earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Woodhaven let Lucas Farner and Jace Davis run wild. Farner got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Davis went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Davis has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Scott, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Trenton's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Woodhaven, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.
Both Trenton and Woodhaven just can't seem to miss. The Trojans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Woodhaven struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
