The Dighton Hornets put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Rawlins County 55-19 at home. Dighton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.
Dighton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Shimer led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Shimer has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Cramer, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and seven steals.
Dighton pushed their record up to 10-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Rawlins County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Dighton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Quinter at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Quinter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. Rawlins County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wallace County at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th.
