Basketball Game Preview: Rock Hills Grizzlies vs. Lakeside Knights

Rock Hills is 2-8 against Lakeside since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rock Hills Grizzlies are taking a road trip to challenge the Lakeside Knights at 7:00 p.m. Rock Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Rock Hills lost to Sylvan-Lucas on the road by a 59-42 margin.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cooper McDill, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Ethan Wirth was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Lakeside came up short against Linn on Monday and fell 51-40.

Rock Hills will have to contain Reece Remus as he made an impact in Lakeside's last game. He dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lakeside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Rock Hills' loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Rock Hills has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Lakeside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Rock Hills ended up a good deal behind Lakeside in their previous meeting back in January, losing 52-35. Can Rock Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
