Manteo has gone 9-1 against Cape Hatteras recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Redskins will host the Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Manteo not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 12th. They put the hurt on Pasquotank County with a sharp 16-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Redskins, who have now won four matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Makenna Gray was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bella Huntingford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Haleigh Stokes, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Manteo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pasquotank County only posted an OBP of .296.
Meanwhile, Cape Hatteras lost 20-13 to Mattamuskeet on Tuesday. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Olivia Napier and Gracie Wyatt did some serious damage despite the final result: Napier went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Wyatt scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Hickman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
Manteo's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Cape Hatteras, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Manteo took their win against Cape Hatteras in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
