HCYA will head out to challenge the Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. HCYA is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
HCYA lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Texas City, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. HCYA was the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Texas City on Friday. Considering HCYA has won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Haley Hodgson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February.
At the plate, HCYA let Sarah Horne and Kiran Kyham run wild. Horne scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Kyham went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Kyham has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Richardson, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: HCYA kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Christian Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Stratford two weeks ago but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-6. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Reese Heflin was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off 13 hits (and not a single walk). Heflin was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
Heflin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ella Romo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-5.
HCYA has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. Fort Bend Christian Academy now has a losing record of 7-8.
Fort Bend Christian Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: HCYA has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Fort Bend Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given HCYA's sizable advantage in that area, Fort Bend Christian Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
HCYA took their win against Fort Bend Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 9-1. Does HCYA have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort Bend Christian Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
