The Muhlenberg Muhls''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 59-0 loss at the hands of Ephrata. While losing is never fun, Muhlenberg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Ephrata is ranked 105th).
Ephrata was led to victory by Sam McCracken and Brayden Brown. McCracken threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns, while Brown rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Brown was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Another big playmaker for Ephrata was Angel Collazo-Colon, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Muhlenberg's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 1.8 points per game. As for Ephrata, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
