The Mountain View Mavericks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 61-33 defeat at the hands of Eagle. Mountain View has struggled against the Mustangs recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Mountain View saw an underclassman step up: Quincy Keller scored 14 points. That was a full 42.4% of Mountain View's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mountain View struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Eagle racked up 17 assists.
Eagle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Berkley Jones, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Mary (molly) johnson, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Mountain View dropped their record down to 3-19 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Eagle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eagle will take on the Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Owyhee sitting on four straight victories and the Mustangs on three.
