There's no place like home for the Keystone Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Black River by a score of 57-48 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Keystone also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Keystone was led to victory by Blake Moore and Liam Goran. Moore scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Goran scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. Logan Nagle was another key contributor, scoring three points along with 12 rebounds.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Hopkins, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Hopkins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ridge Martin, who scored 12 points.
Keystone's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Black River, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keystone will take on the Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buckeye knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Wildcats likes a good challenge. As for Black River, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Clippers at 7:00 p.m. Clearview is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
