Mountain View's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Summit Academy by a score of 5-0.
Noa Ioane looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Caden Imes was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Skyridge and Bingham, and Bingham kept the tradition alive. Skyridge fell just short of Bingham by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered since May 16, 2024.
Skyridge saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miles Robinson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Even though they lost, Skyridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Mountain View's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Skyridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mountain View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Skyridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
