Beatrice extended the longest winning streak in B District 5 this week by beating Ralston, 28-22. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Orangemen.
Beatrice and the Rams played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Beatrice eventually emerging with a 28-22 victory. Dakota Vanlaningham ran for 143 yards in the win.
Bob Sexton's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zach Decker threw for 25 yards and Tanner Dewey had 16 yards receiving. Matt Fujan helped Beatrice's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
Beatrice's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Orangemen feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Decker has thrown for 450 yards and 38 touchdowns this season, while Dewey has 13 catches for 172 yards. Vanlaningham leads the league in rushing with 762 yards.
The marquee game in B District 5 this week will be the clash between the Orangemen and Norris. Beatrice enters the game ranked ninth in the state, while the Titans ranks 15th.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Orangemen take on Norris. Beatrice has allowed 72 points this season, while Jeff Reed's team has given up 58. The Orangemen allowed 22 points last week as they defeated Ralston.
The Titans took down Nebraska City 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
