Basketball Recap: Unity Christian Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Unity Christian's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They managed a 46-42 win over the Tri-State Christian Huskies. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Huskies back in November, they had to take a 48-39 defeat.

Nathan Woessner was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Graham Foust was another key player, putting up ten points.

Tri-State Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nehemiah Smith, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and three blocks, and Noah Duenser, who posted 14 points. Those 11 points gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Reibling, who put up four points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Unity Christian's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Tri-State Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Unity Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-22 defeat against Quad Cities Christian on the 10th. As for Tri-State Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-44 win against Galesburg Christian on the 10th.
