Urbana is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Northwestern, falling 21-7.
Urbana saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isla Wooten, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Morgan Boyd was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Kenton Ridge put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Indian Lake get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 13 runs or more this season.
Ivee Rastatter made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Rastatter was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played.
In other batting news, Brenna Fyffe was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Cara Cammon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Kenton Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.
Kenton Ridge's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Urbana, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Urbana has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kenton Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
