Tuscola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Henderson Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent defeat being a 56-50 loss last Tuesday.
Despite the defeat, Tuscola saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Julia Wells went 9-for-21 to rack up 23 points along with seven boards and six assists. Wells continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Williamson, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tuscola smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 19 consecutive games.
West Henderson found their leader in freshman June Scontras, who went 12-for-19 en route to 27 points and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scontras has scored all season. Kayden Lyda was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven boards and six steals.
Tuscola's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for West Henderson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-11.
