Western Missouri recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Western Missouri this week, Midway beat Sherwood 52-6. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Drexel took down Lone Jack 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Austin Corley was a beast in the backfield as Adrian defeated El Dorado Springs.
Corley provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Blackhawks bested the Bulldogs.
Dakota Jones put up the best numbers in passing as Archie fell to Liberal. He finished with 10 completions for 225 yards and 1 touchdown. Jones' favorite target this week was Kale Wheeler, who caught 5 passes for 130 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Whirlwinds' Jones and Wheeler have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-10 quarterback Jones has thrown for 866 yards this season, while Wheeler has 31 catches for 527 yards. Corley from Adrian leads the league in rushing with 1,454 yards.
Trevor Dean of the Osceola is just 19 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 121 carries Dean has accumulated 981 yard this year.
The Bobcats are in third place, while George Bruto's team is in fourth place.
